1) Hi the external speakers will not work on my mac. Sound will only work when i plug in headphones or a mini jack to an external sound device.As i do disco, karaoke, guitar tuition sound id a vital part of my mac, is this a common problem, how easy is it to get fixed?

2) Last night after turning on the iMac the question mark folder icon appeared. I tried restarting holding down alt option shift S etc. but no result. Follwed some help from the Apple Support Forums, but no joy - the iMac's still dead.Have tried to reboot from the backup DVD but the iMac can't find the hard drive to re-install the system to. (I was going to archive the old one and do a fresh install.)I have tried using my Macbook and Firewire, putting the iMac in Target Disk mode to access the iMac's hard drive, but it doesn't work - no disk icon mounts on the Macbook's desktop. It appears as though the iMac's hard drive is down - my big probelm is all the data that's sitting there on it that I can't access.I would like help in testing the iMac - repairing the fault by replacing the hard drive if possible. Most importantly I need to rescue the data from the iMac - I last did a major back-up in January and there's a lot of essential things I'd like to rescue from the old drive, if that's possible.Perhaps I'm wrong and there's something else wrong with the iMac. I'd really appreciate a quote for you to came and sort it out. I'm feeling pretty sick about this - my first crash in 18 years of Mac ownership! I appreciate it's Easter and I wouldn't need you to some out until Tuesday or later in the week. 

3) Recently bought this g4, to use as a wireless browser,

installed an airport card inside & it 'sees' my home network plus its signal is strong,
although its unable to connect to the internet.

It CAN browse when hooked up to an ethernet cable
